The Challenge:
Medicine Bakery faced an unexpected and critical connectivity issue just a week before the grand opening of their new location at The Chubb Buildings back in 2022. Their initial provider, Openreach, informed them of a three-month delay in installing the necessary connectivity, jeopardising their opening plans. In a desperate bid for a solution, they approached our team to see if we could assist.
The Solution:
With our extensive infrastructure already in place at The Chubb Buildings, where we supply connectivity to 80% of the tenants, we were uniquely positioned to offer a swift solution. Understanding the urgency, we jumped into action immediately.
Rapid Fibre Installation: We leveraged our existing multiple fibre connections coming into the building. Our installers quickly ran a new fibre cable directly from our datacentre to Medicine Bakery’s premises. This ensured they had a reliable and high-speed internet connection, crucial for their operations.
Point of Sale Integration: We collaborated closely with Medicine Bakery’s Point of Sale (POS) provider to understand the till requirements. This ensured seamless integration and functionality of their sales system from day one.
Comprehensive Network Setup: To support their operations, we installed multiple network points throughout the Wolverhampton site. This facilitated smooth connectivity for their various devices and systems.
Robust Infrastructure: We implemented a robust IT infrastructure consisting of a next-generation firewall, cloud-managed switches, and wireless access points. We set up dedicated networks for both staff and guest WiFi, ensuring security and optimal performance.
The Outcome:
The entire project was completed within a week, well ahead of the bakery’s opening. The infrastructure was ready for the till installation two days before they opened to the public, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted launch.

Expansion:
Following the successful setup at The Chubb Buildings, Medicine Bakery asked us to extend our services to their other sites, citing ongoing issues they had faced elsewhere.
